Why would anyone see a quack like him? He will not lesson and just pushes a variety of medicines on his patients whether it works or not. Do yourself a favor find someone more qualified.
my son has autsim he was 26 months old when we started seeing dr vandenberg. he said my son had very strong autistic features but not autistic. said he had adhd and sleep insomnia he percribed clondine and risperidone which he told me it wasnt fda approved for his age. anyways held on to the script got it filled and all but was scared to give it to my son then everything with my son got harder so i decided to try it. i wish that was never perscribed. risperdal worked great at first but it does nothing now and i cant get him off of it. now we see a different dr but let me rewind real quick. in september of 2016 we went to dr vandenberg for his appointment he decided to but my son on ritilan i said i dont agree with that thats a hard drug i told him i had vad reaction to it when i was a kid. he also put him on topomax for seizures which my son doesnt have seizures we thought he did but was trying to get him tested to see. he also stopped risperdal and clonidine. now with risperdal and clonidine u cant just stop u have to wean off of it i told him that as well i do my research. he said oh no he wilk be fine well first day of ritilan my son had 4 seizures back to back and also enduced phychosis from being stripped off of all other meds. my son was put in the hospital he was almost 3 years old at this time. he was admitted and they tried calming my son down with ativan and benadryl through the iv finally at 1:30am they decided they would have to heavily sedate him in pediatrics icu unit we are from alexandria la. the hospital had never dealt with this before at such a young age so after 4 days of being heavily sedated in icu we had him transferred by ambulance to tulane lakeside in metarie la spent 3 days there they started him back on his risperdal and clonidine it took two whole days to get my son back and honestly i thought my son was going to die or stay permantly like he was. my son his high functioning autstic he was acting like severe severe autistic he didnt know who i was or anyone running into glass walls extremly hard we thought he was going to break it and i was so angry with this whole situation because if we wouldve never came across vandenberg we wouldve never gone through this. my son will be 4 in october. my advice stay away my son is very sick has alot of health problems. just stay away so u dont have to watch ur baby go through what i saw mine go through i cant get it out of my head.

Dr. Vandenberg is a blessing to our family. His staff is professional and nice.
He wrongly diagnosed me with bipolar with schophrinic tendencies I was placed on medication I should have never taken for a year and a half. I do not recommend seeing this doctor.
